- Catfight (Onur Tukel, 2017)
This movie is brutaaaaaaaaal.
- Maborosi (Hirokazu Koreeda, 1995)
Okay this is (to me) the most prettiest Koreeda movie by faaaar.
Every shot is mesmerizing. Atmospheric dan moody sekali.
It's as if you're grieving with her.
- The Tale (Jennifer Fox, 2018)
This movie is effed up. I was scared.
Gue ga bisa lihat Jason Ritter kayak semula... (._. )
- Brother of the Year (Witthaya Thongyooyong, 2018)
It's fun, but uneven. Setengah film pertama komedi, kemudian setengah sisanya jadi full-on family drama. Also the first half progressnya cepat sekali lompatnya. I think this movie would be better as a 6 part mini series deh. But I really like Sunny and the leading lady. Sunny is awesome as usual, the leading lady juga, i mean they both are pretty attractive tapi chemistry nya enak sekali -rasanya effortless dan organic- kita jadi gak lihat mereka as a romantic couple (cos that would be... awkward).
- Mission: Impossible - Fallout (Christopher McQuarrie, 2018)
Ini film MI pertama yang gue tonton. I was blown away.
Film lainnya seseru ini kah???????????
Seriously Tom Cruise is defying death.
Gue gatau mana yang real mana yang stunt atau CGI.
Gue percaya aja kalo itu semua real, cos he's crazy like that.
Dan as ta ga Henry Cavill and his pillowy buddy and his sexy pornstache,
my basement was flooded. Hurricane Mitch flooded.
- Sebelum Iblis Menjemput (Timo Tjahjanto, 2018)
Okay look, this movie has the most amazing makeup work di antara film horror Indonesia sejauh ini yang gue lihat. Hold my hand, it is amazing.
Gue merasa film ini kayak mau berusaha campy? Tapi kenapa rasanya yang campy cuma Karina Suwandi doang (she is gaaaame and she's awesome!). I really don't like Chelsea Islan's acting, I get it you're angsty tapi rasanya gue gak dapat apa apa lagi selain dia ngegas tiap kali ngomong, rasanya 2 dimensional sekali. Yah ini film horror, I didn't expect anything yang gimana juga, karakter fully realized macam karakter di Hereditary apa gimana. I just wanted this to be fun. Tapi rasanya aktingnya akting sekali gitu, gue gak lihat dia sebagai real person in an effed up situation. Rasanya kayak gue sadar she's doing a character in a movie. That Samo guy aktingnya enak tapi.
Tapi yang paling jarring dan bikin gue gak betah itu... dialogue nya cringey sekali. SEKALI.
Also the third act is so messy I couldnt wait for the movie to be over.
Anyway, film ini rasanya kayak Dukun-dukunan campur Evil Dead. Yeaaaaa.... It has its moments.
- Kafir (Azhar Lubis, 2018)
On the other hand, Kafir karakternya asik bangettt, from the get go rasanya lo dibuat care sama kelaurga ini, si ibu si bapak (Teddy Syah is DILF, gue pas SD naksir doi gegara demen nonton sinetron) dan dua anaknya. Kafir asik banget sampe adegan dukun-dukunan gila di ujung second act, kemudian masuklah ke third act yang sama ngaconya kayak Sebelum Iblis Menjemput campur Get Out. Seriusan, bahkan kedua film ini third act nya punya adegan yang samaaaaa. It's a downhill from there... bahkan antagonisnya kayak dari film yang berbeda. Aktingnya over the top sinetron gak banget lengkap dengan ketawa gyah hah hah hah karikatur banget lah. BETE.
ALSO PERLU BANGET KALIAN BERHENTIIN MOBIL DI UJUNG SANA TERUS JALAN MAYAN JAUH KE UJUNG BUKIT BUAT ADEGAN DUDUK DRAMATIS LIHAT MATAHARI TERBIT. Lo semua luka-luka........... sempet aja.
- The Joyluck Club (Wayne Wang, 1993)
Siap-siap Crazy Rich Asian nonton ini dulu.
Gue kaget lihat the scale of the production, niattttt.
Also very well acted. A tad melodramatic to my liking but I enjoyed every minute of it.
Dan suksesnya Crazy Rich Asian akhirnya bikin Hollywood buka mata, lately banyak banget asian leading actor di film dan tv series, gue seneng tentunya but come on honestly, ini sih bukan karena diversity tapi karena duit.
- Waitress (Adrienne Shelly, 2007)
Keri Russell is dazzling <3 p="">Walaupun tone dan mood filmnya bright dan quirky, sesungguhnya film ini dark sekali.
Nontonnya sampai agak gak tenang rasanya. But I love it!
- Searching (Aneesh Chaganty, 2018)
Idk man, i actually enjoyed it, terus banyak yang gak suka dan akhirnya gue mempertanyakan selera gue. But i dont get how people expected this movie to be grand and epic macam Infinity War. Ya engga gitu lahhh. It is supposed to be smaller. You're supposed to take a breather with this movie gitu. Well, at least menurut gue yak. Gue gak ngerti lah superhero2an.

Yooo, John Cho as a leading man! And I love how tidy and organized everything is, it's almost like porn to my eyes.

Anyway, dari bulan Juni Juli, walaupun gue suka beberapa film di atas, tapi rasanya enggak ada yang sampai menyentuh hati. But if I really really really have to choose, Maborosi it is!
I'm so excited for Shoplifters :(
RIP Kirin Kiki! You'll be missed.
